Job Summary
The Project Coordinator will provide managerial and technical oversight on two CARE Indonesia projects and will be based in Bandung. She will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of field activities, coordinating with the Program Unit Senior Manager and Local Partners; contribute to program strategy and design, and monitoring of progress; and ensuring progress in the projects. S/he will be responsible to synergize activities across project partners, coordinate and build relationships with key stakeholders, including relevant national and local governments. In particular, the Project Coordinator must to make every effort to ensure that the Project’s objectives/outputs are achieved with a high standard of quality according to the log frame and budget, within the contracted project period and in compliance with national laws, donor regulations and CARE policies and procedures.

Project Description
The Gap Inc. P.A.C.E (Personal Advancement & Career Enhancement) for Girls program is an innovative, gender integrated foundational skills program for adolescent girls aged 11-17 years. The program aims to enable healthy and positive transitions into adulthood, while recognising and addressing gender vulnerabilities and inequalities. The core belief and transformational potential of the curricula is that girls can transform their lives with the critical skills given to them at the right time during their adolescence. CII will implement this program in selected communities in the Bandung and surrounding areas. The objective of the project is to develop more confident and resilient girls, enabling them to make informed decisions about their own lives and bodies and ready to join the workforce.

The HOPE Indonesia project is funded by the Starbucks Foundation and will be implemented in communities near to tea plantations in Sukaluyu, Bandung, West Java. The project aims to support women tea workers through capacity building around women’s leadership (including advocacy, negotiation and decision making skills), improving financial literacy and access to financial services and improving WASH practices (including empowering women and communities to identify issues and solutions surrounding water, sanitation and hygiene).

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

1. Contribute to Program Strategy and Design (20% of time spent)
• Elaborate the project implementation strategy and design together with Senior Unit Program Manager;
• Develop workplan and budget forecasts, including developing a monitoring plan with the project team and local partners;
• Pro actively identify and communicate program opportunities and challenges for replication and/or scale up.

2. Coordinate Field Activities (30% of time spent)
• Identify and recommend relevant source of secondary information and/or primary data sources to support the project;
• Together with local partners identify and map relevant issues faced by adolescent girls in the PACE project area and women tea workers in the HOPE Project area.
• Facilitate need assessment process analysis and conclusion process on the data collected for further training module development and awareness raising to the project participants;
• Develop criteria and identify potential communities to partner with in the area
• In accordance with workplan, support the field office and local partners to be able to perform and conduct project activities;
• Bridging communication between local partners and local government or other necessary stakeholders;
• Initiate potential collaboration action with other related project in the same area of focus and geographical location.

3. Monitoring Field Activities (20% of time spent)
• Together with Senior Program Manager develop monitoring tools to be used by internal and local partners;
• Conduct regular monitoring to local partners and school partners, as well program participants, to monitor progress of the program and help to overcome the challenges faced by girls and/or schools and tea workers;
• Update the field monitoring findings to the Senior Manager and discuss for future actions and/or solutions;
• Maintain database needed from program implementation;
• Ensure quality of project activities implemented.

4. Building Relationship with stakeholders (20% of time spent)
• Regularly liaise with relevant local stakeholder to ensure project implementation and buy in for future replication;
• Update any relevant information to stakeholder.

5. Administrative and Finance (9% of time spent)
• Coordinate with other team member at HQ level including project admin and finance;
• Prepare and submit monthly narrative report to Project Manager.

6. Others (1% of time spent)
• Willing to join with the Emergency Response Team (ERT) in accordance with experience and competence and is ready to be assigned to the disaster site in accordance with the existing needs;
• Other duties that may reasonably be assigned inline with the position.

• Experience: At least 3 years of project management experience with proven experience in community facilitation and capacity building in a development program (preferred).
• Project management experience including overseeing project budgets, workplan implementation, negotiation with stakeholders.
• Education: University degree in Social Welfare, Economic Development, Education or other relevant background.
• Experience in writing project reports.
• Ability to work under tight deadline and multi-cultural setting.
• Competent in Windows, MS Office programs experience.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written).

• Informal training on Training of Trainers of adult learning facilitation skills;
• Training and/or experience in module development.
• Preferably experience dealing with school environment and programing;
• Preferably experience in adult learning facilitation and communication with stakeholders for dissemination;
• Demonstrate experience in applying a gender equality approach.
